The well acclaimed instant messaging app Telegram is also available to iOS devices, and how could it not since almost 15% of smartphones and tablets are iPhones or iPads respectively.

Download & Install

In order to install telegram on your device, you’ll have to go to the App Store and search for Telegram, it’s only 41.4 MB so the download should be fast. If you can’t find it, go to the official website telegram.org and press on the section Telegram for iPhone / iPad, that will redirect you to the app inside the App Store.

Open an account

Once you have installed it you can go ahead and open it, it will open a screen where it describes the main characteristics of Telegram, at the bottom, there should be a button saying Start Messaging, press it and it will lead to a screen that ask you to enter your phone number, make sure to enter since it is needed to create an account.
After you enter your phone number you will receive a SMS to confirm that it belongs to you, be patient and wait for the message, if you do not received it, you could try with a phone call, after certain time has passed, since it does not give you that option right away.
If it still doesn’t work, make sure the phone number and the country are correct, and als that your phone is able to receive text messages, note thatit doesn’t have to be an smartphone, so, if you are using an iPad, you can activate the account with your regular phone.
Enter the code, and if it is correct, it should immediately go to the next step, which is to enter your name and last name (optional). You can also add your profile picture, but that is also optional.
After that it will ask for permissions to send notifications, you can go ahead and accept, or don’t accept if you want, but will not be able to know if someone has texted you unless you open the app itself.

Now you are good to go! The interface is simple, so that you will be using it like a pro in no time. If you haven’t used that phone number to open a Telegram account, you will have to add contacts, luckily, if you contacts are using Telegram, it should add them automatically.
