Telegram is not only available for desktop, Android and iOS, but also on Windows Phone, we know that this OS does not have all the apps that others have, but with Telegram that’s not the case.

As of its Android and iOS counterpart, you will have to search for the app on the Store, but you can also search it on the official website, telegram.org where you can choose Telegram for WP (WP meaning Windows Phone).

Starting to use Telegram

Once you have downloaded and installed it, it’s time to create an account. You should be prompted to enter your phone number, make sure to enter it correctly since you will need to receive a SMS with a code to access the next step.

The code should arrive on a few seconds, but depending on your carrier, it could take a little longer, if you don’t receive it in 2 minutes, you could also try a phone call. In case you haven’t received it, make sure that you entered the correct number, with the correct country, likewise, double check if your phone is able to receive SMS or calls.

After you register your phone number, you can enter your name and last name, this does not have to be a unique username, therefore you can just write your real name, or not, it’s your choice, but that’s how other will see you.

Finally you can start to add contacts that use Telegram in order to have conversations, sending and receiving files and so on.

Telegram is a secure and fast instant messaging service that is present in all the major operating systems, both mobile and desktop. Although Windows Phone only is present in less than 3% of the smartphones worldwide, it does not get overlooked.

Telegram for Windows phone has a short live since it was only released a few years back, so it is to be expected that not all its features work as intended, in fact, some people have complained about bugs, something that almost does not happen in other platforms.
